The Center for Educational Resources is pleased to offer Best Practices in University Teaching (BPUT): a 2 day workshop for faculty. The workshop will present pedagogical best practices used at Johns Hopkins and peer institutions.
This is a great opportunity for new faculty who are interested in learning about evidence-based teaching practices, and is open to JHU faculty and lecturers of all levels and academic disciplines.
Dates/Location
- Two days held on Tuesday, January 11 from 8:30AM-3:00PM and Wednesday, January 12 from 8:30AM-3:00PM (coffee/registration begins at 8AM both days)
- Boxed lunches and pre-packaged snacks will be provided
- Social distancing and masks will be required

Program Facilitators
The workshop will be facilitated by Johns Hopkins faculty known for teaching excellence.
Registration
This program is recommended for faculty in their first few years of teaching, but ALL faculty are welcome to participate.
Registration will be open from Wednesday, November 17 - Friday, December 17 with limited spots available.
Workshop Fee
Workshop fee: $850 (Full-time, benefits eligible JHU employees may submit for 100% tuition remission. There is no cap to this benefit, and it does not deduct from the annual $5,250 allotment for credit courses. You are eligible for tuition remission once you have completed 120 days of full-time employment as long as you are JHU faculty or staff and continue in a full-time position.)
Tuition Remission
Following registration, eligible faculty should download the Tuition Remission Form and return a completed/signed copy to lacey.henry@jhu.edu. All highlighted fields MUST be completed in order for HR to process this benefit. If you are not eligible, please contact Lacey.Henry@jhu.edu to submit payment.
Payment or tuition remission form must be received by Friday, December 17th to secure your seat in the workshop. In order to accommodate those waitlisted for this workshop, failure to submit payment or a signed tuition remission form by said date will result in the cancellation of your registration.
